APC Packaging is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager with experience in plastics manufacturing who understands projects start to finish. We are a nationally recognized skincare and cosmetics packaging company located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The Senior Engineering Manager will provide a broad range of engineering expertise and technical skills to both our external clients and internal team. You will play a key role in our manufacturing process, by planning, managing, and monitoring engineering functions to ensure our company’s success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a high level of technical leadership through mentoring, leading task forces and teams and answering technical requests.
• Coordinate with Commercial Leader and Project Management to achieve excellence in execution.
• Determine project timelines, durations, dependencies, and overall support requirements.
• Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems to enable project completion.
• Represent the business domestically and internationally.  Liaise with clients and internal team members to delivery packaging solutions and enhance customer experience.
• Guide and mentor team members in their day-to-day engineering responsibilities, professional and career development.  This includes mentoring junior engineers on plastic injection molding and rapid prototyping methods.
• Create and maintain packaging engineering specifications utilizing CAD, 3D modeling software and other tools.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
• 5-10 years’ experience in the plastics manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of high precision metrology and ability to work with instrument of measure.
• Proficient with the use of design for manufacturing, SPC, & DOE.
• Experience with GD&T with analysis in tolerance stack-ups.
• Skincare/Cosmetics packaging experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience supervising both projects and Engineering team members.
